aT 12pm over 50 friends and family gathered at Gilroes Crematorium to say a community farewell to a much loved friend, husband, father, and grandfather.  It was a cold but sunny day.  The minister - who had blessed Carol & Alan's marriage and baptised them at Oadby Baptist Church, came out of retirement to officiate.  It was a beautiful service with an illustrated Order of Service, a eulogy and  photo montage of Alan's life, three pieces of his favourite music and a poem by his daughter provided.  A reception (Wake) followed to honour a remarkable and gifted man.  He was given the best send-off possible for such a sad loss.
